On Remembrance Day, we pause in gratitude for all who served—veterans and active members of the Canadian Armed Forces, peacekeepers, the RCMP and Merchant Navy—and for the families, caregivers, and communities who have carried that service with them. We honour the courage shown in uniform and the quiet resilience shown at home, including the veterans whose stories have not always been heard. We remember the visible and invisible wounds, and the everyday bravery it takes to heal.
Connection is one of the most powerful ways we can show our thanks. Men’s Sheds, along with Legions, friendship centres, neighbourhood houses, faith communities, peer-support circles, and other local services, help break isolation through simple acts like building together, sharing skills, checking in, and listening. If you’re a veteran or family member, you are not alone.
If you’re a neighbour, consider reaching out, volunteering, or inviting someone to join a Shed or a community program. A coffee, a ride to an appointment, a shared project—these small moments matter.
We remember. We thank you. We stand with you—today and every day.
